it is a lipgloss that actually stains the lips, generally a reddish brownish color. When you put it on the color stays on your lips for a lot longer than regular lipstick. Several hours longer - it might last all eveningWhat is lip stain?
It's basically the same effect as if you had a cherry popsicle and rubbed that over your lips for a minute...it makes your lips look a little darker. It works by actually staining your skin, same way popsicles or blueberries would. To use, you simply apply to your lips (make sure you don't go ';outside the lines';, because it will also stain the skin around your mouth if you get it there), let it sit for a minute or so, then go on with your day. It lasts longer than lipstick or gloss, because once it's stained your skin, it doesn't exactly rub off. It just wears off after a while.

Yes. It's a long lasting alternative to lipstick. I've seen it in numerous magazines, it's like a liquid lipstick =D
its more watery than lipgloss, i think.

It's basically colored water/rose water. you can also use it on your cheeks. It's just like any other makeup, temporary. You'll need to reapply couple of times a day if you want it to look fresh all the time. It's supposedly more natural looking. YOu can apply lip gloss over it. I used the Benefit brand. It also comes with this shimmery stuff you can apply on top. I really like it.
I've never tried it before, but yeah, it's strong. Like, it doesn't come off from food or anything.
Tarte, NARS and Goldie make the best lipstains in the best colors, IMHO. I have tried several others and sometimes they are too strong. It stains your lips, like cherry ices does. It lasts for quite a while, but once you eat it will start to fade. It definitely lasts longer than regular lipstick. Just make sure you use a nice gloss or plumper with it because most of the time, it is very drying.
